This trial map is a cut-out of the original world map WRLD1052M with the topographic raster background TOPO5. The size of the original raster image is ca. 21.000 x 15.500 pixel.
Editing the Vector-Map: Every data2map vector-map can be fully adapted to individual requirements using vector graphisc software. Best results can be achieved using Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, InDesign etc. Version CS3 or later, you get 'the maximum' in editing and handling your vector maps. Alternatively, you may use any other vector graphics software, e.g. the Open-Source-vector graphics editor Inkscape. In the latest Version of this free software you can import and edit pdf and .ai formats (after undoing groupings)... Areas can be freely manipulated, continuous text however, may change during import to single letter or point-text.
Google maps, Bing maps, OpenStreetMap...
This trial map is in Mercator Projection. Google maps, Bing maps and others do have the same projection. This allows you to place a screenshot of Google maps, Bing maps... behind the vectors of any PRO-Series map in Mercator projection and transfer information such as additional cities, rivers, roads etc. into this map. Just save the screenshot as jpg file, create a new layer in Illustrator and "Place" the screenshot into this layer. Why don't you try it out, you will love this feature. Do observe the copyrights.
Raster-map with natural background: The natural background (TOPO) of this trial map is a raster file and can not be scaled without loss of quality (like all raster data - and opposed to vector data). This sample has a resolution of ca. 5 km per Pixel. For your quality enlargements or prints we can supply raster data e.g. in psd-file formats of upto 90mm per pixel resolution. Please ask us. By the way, you may edit the raster image just like any raster image using suitable software e.g. Photoshop. You may change color, contrast or even transparency/opacity of the TOPO to suit your requirements...
